This was amazing!
Visiting Argentinian Patagonia? Don’t miss this incredible guided hiking tour of Los Glaciares National Park. As the name suggests, this is where you’ll find the mighty Perito Moreno glacier, a staggering 60m high wall of ice that frequently calves icebergs that then head out into the sea. Accompanied by a guide, you’ll take a scenic coastal walkway along the iceberg channel, enjoying spectacular views of channels, fjords and bays, with floating blocks of ice all around.
You’ll spend several hours here, allowing for many excellent photo opportunities - this is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, after all. There is also the option of taking a boat cruise on Lago Argentino (not included in the price - bring cash) which will take you up close to the north face of the glacier, where you’ll actually hear the ice creaking and cracking. If you time it just right, you may be one of the lucky few that witnesses a chunk of ice break free. A stunning day out, with an informative guide and outstanding scenery all around.
