- The highest-commercially rafted waterfall in the world
- Exciting 7-metre drop off Tutea Falls
Does regular white-water rafting seem a little tame? Do you crave a full-on, pedal-to-the-metal experience that will stay with you forever, and have your friends green with envy? Then this amazing Grade 5 rafting trip on the beautiful Kaituna River just outside Rotorua is for you. You’ll travel through foaming water, up to 15 sets of rapids, and three waterfalls, including the massive Tutea Falls, 7m (21ft) high, so hold on to your paddle!
All safety guidance and equipment is of course provided on this professionally-run experience. And because the Kaituna is classified as a pool-drop river, that means that for every drop or set of rapids, there’s a stretch of calm water before the next one, so although this is extreme rafting and certainly aimed at the adrenaline-seekers among you, it’s not totally off-the-scale. Suitable for ages 13 and up, this is the perfect way to see the gorgeous countryside around Rotorua, and have a blast at the same time!
