Why we included this experience:

  • A fantastic boat tour of the world’s longest navigable fjord
  • Stop at a breathtaking Feigum one of the Scandinavia's highest waterfalls

Experience description

The sublime surrounds of the Sognefjord play host to this breezy trip by RIB boat. You’ll be cruising through landscapes that could come straight out of Lord of the Rings, with crystal-clear blue waters, towering peaks, and cascading waterfalls. Beginning in the sleepy, picturesque village of Marifjøra, your guide will provide an entertaining and informative commentary on the unique history and geography of the area during the boat ride, before you reach the mighty Feigum waterfall, at 218m (720ft) among Scandinavia’s highest. Feel free to visit the base for a refreshing spray of ice-cold water!

Continuing on as far as Skjolden, the boat returns toward Marifjøra, where your expedition will be rewarded with an incredible lunch at the Tørvis hotel, prepared from local produce. Expect smoked pepper salmon on sourdough bread with homemade coriander butter, fresh mango and arugula. Following the feast, the staff will be pleased to give you a small guided tour of this traditional hotel, and tell you about its past. For a memorable journey through some of Europe’s most captivating scenery, look no further.
