- It is a cowboy style adventure on water
- Raft through one of the largest rivers in the United States
The iconic Snake River is one of the largest in the United States, it’s name deriving from the “S” shapes Native Americans would make to describe salmon swimming upstream, explorers mistaking it for the sign of a snake. Hang on tight, because you’ll be tackling eight separate sets of rapids on this experience, ranging from Grade I to Grade III. And there’s plenty of fascinating wildlife to keep your eyes out for, from ospreys to bald eagles and river otters. But don’t worry, there’ll be plenty of time to slow things down and admire the fetching scenery.
Lunch at a riverside camp is chili with cornbread and a Dutch cobbler for dessert, cooked cowboy-style, in traditional “Dutch oven”, or ceramic pot. While you’re waiting for this delicious meal to be ready, explore the local area with your guides who will explain the local flora and fauna, roast marshmallows, or just chill out and enjoy the view. What a way to travel!
