- Admire the historic landmarks of Trakai including the Island Castle
- Perfect combination of history, beautiful nature and a little exercise

Enjoy a sublime guided kayaking tour around the lakes of Trakai, some of the most picturesque in Lithuania, that takes in the beautiful historic landmarks of a medieval lake resort once used by Lithuanian Grand Dukes. You’ll be picked up from your Vilnius hotel and transferred the 25km to Trakai, before getting into the water. The route will take you over three interconnected lakes, and you don’t need any experience in kayaking so long as you can swim, as the water is generally perfectly calm. Both 4 and 5-hour tours are available, involving up to 8 or 11km of paddling, so expect a nice gentle pace.
See the key points of interest around Trakai from angles that most visitors cannot, as you travel by water. The magnificent island castle that dates to the 14th century; the Užutrakis manor house and park designed by the French landscape architect Édouard François André on the shore; ruins of the Peninsular castle, small islands and many scenes of tranquil, scenic nature. A picnic lunch is provided for the longer tour, while for the shorter one hot drinks and cake - a much-deserved energy boost for the return journey. Learn the history of this fabulous town from your guide, before returning to the capital. We think this is one of the best Vilnius day-trips around.
