The tour was guided by a staff member from the Birch Aquarium. He was good at spotting whales and helping us see them. He also pointed out other marine life. I would have liked more information about whales and their habits. We had a memorable encounter with dolphins while returning to the harbor. Four of them swam beside our boat playing with the wake for approximately 10 minutes. The water was clear and it was easy to watch them swimming under the water and coming up for air. The day was partly cloudy, partly sunny.

Enjoyed the cruise. The crew warned us ahead of time that water would be choppy and offered the opportunity to go another time for passengers who might be affected by the conditions. Our family went and had a great time keeping our eyes pealed for water spouts. The Birch Aquarium volunteer was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of interesting facts about the grey whales.

Chances of spotting a whale are exactly the same, whether you choose the morning or afternoon departure. Whales don't wear watches.
Same goes for the days of the week. Each day has an equal chance of sightings. Whales do not have calendars.
In the unlikely event that your departure is cancelled due to poor weather conditions, we do our best to contact you in the morning at the phone number you provide. We will reschedule your tour for another day if you like or provide you with a full refund—your choice.
Guests with wheelchairs can access the vessel and interior main deck. However, the exterior top deck and the restrooms are not ramp accessible.
No touching the whales. No feeding the whales. No petting the whales. This is whale watching. We watch with our eyes.
