Experience description

Ayutthaya was the capital of Thailand, then called Siam, for over 400 years, and the province is now a very popular day trip from Bangkok for its many historic ruins. You’ll begin your guided tour of Ayutthaya with the stunning Bang Pa-In Palace, the Summer Palace, with its vast manicured gardens and beautifully restored residences. Another highlight of the tour is sure to be Wat Phanan Choeng, a temple built in 1324 with a revered and gigantic statue of Buddha inside.

You’ll see another superb temple here, Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, before visiting a typical floating market where you can buy lunch, and also browse for souvenirs. Finally, before heading back to Bangkok, you’ll stop the mysterious ruins of one more ancient temple, Wat Mahathat.
