- One of the world’s foremost pilgrimage destinations
- Explore all 4 quarters of the Old Town
- Authentic introduction beyond the tourist routes
When visiting Jerusalem for the first time, seeing the majestic Old Town is mandatory. But this Jerusalem gift experience is different from most tours, in that it takes you through narrow alleyways into the heart of the different communities for a more authentic look at what makes this city so vibrant. The Old Town is divided into four quarters, “assigned” to Jews, Christians, Muslims and Armenians. You’ll see them all, learn about the different cultures and traditions in each, and enjoy a number of sweet and savoury delicacies on this fascinating guided tour.
See the Small Western Wall in the Muslim Quarter, where if you wish to say a private prayer you can do so in peace. Sample a tasty breakfast of hummus, ka’ek and tea in a Sa’aleek coffee shop, before heading to the market for a traditional Arabic dessert washed down with strong coffee! Then on to explore the Coptic community in the Christian Quarter where you’ll admire the Church of the Holy Sepulchre among other highlights. In the Jewish Quarter you’ll pass typical residential areas and synagogues, and finally in the Armenian Quarter it’s time for a well-deserved rest and a hearty pizza, Lahmajoun, before a quick stop at the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate, before the tour finishes at the New Gate.
