Experience description

Your journey takes you through rustic villages, where the locals will give you a friendly wave as you sail past. Along the way, your English-speaking guide will interpret local culture and lifestyles for you. The isolated Chau Srei Vibol temple has challenged the imaginations of historians and scholars for centuries, but is thought to have had a military function. Wander ruined towers and gigantic sandstone blocks in this peaceful woodland setting.

En route to Chau Srei Vibol you’ll cross the original bridge of the Old Angkor road, dating back some 1000 years old, but in a testament to Cambodian craftsmanship, still remarkably sturdy. After a hearty lunch of local fare, the tour proceeds to a bustling market where you can barter for trinkets, then on to a Buddhist pagoda to see the monks in their flowing robes before returning to base.

  • Getting off the beaten track to escape the heat of Siem Reap
  • The secretive ruins of Chau Srei Vibol

Eric and Evanne

The tour lasted all day with stops for lunch and a nice nap in hammocks by a stream. There was a good mix of riding, stopping to see sights and meet locals, and relaxing. We had a great time on our experience in Cambodia and would love to give the same to someone as a gift
