We had an awesome time! I’d been nervous but surfing with Outrageous was fun and very easy to pick up. It’s pretty basic so I think anyone could give it a try, whether older or very young. It was great.

Booked beginners surf lessons for my 12 and 15 yr old with Outrageous Surf. The business is well operated and the people who run the business are very friendly. They even called me to let me know that my original booking date was overbooked and let me move to a different date with no hassle. This turned out great for the kids because their class only had 4 students.
The instructor Dylan was great and by the end of the 2 hour lesson my kids were both able to stand when riding a wave. This was nearly impossible in LA due to the rough surf conditions. Kids had a great time!

Experience description

Learn how to ride an ocean wave in the place where it all started at the Maui surf school. With its warm water, consistent waves, beautiful surroundings and dedicated surfing lessons, Maui is the perfect place to learn how to surf. Let the local Maui surf school instructors teach you the sport they love. Warning: surfing is addictive!

You will be taught surfing lessons. The area is equipped with restrooms, lockers, lounge chairs, and showers for your convenience, and you’re welcome to stick around after your lesson or come before to hang out. At the end of your lesson, your group takes a photo, which you can purchase if you'd like to bring home a souvenir.
