- Perfect combo of exercise and scenery in Palm Springs
- Thrilling natural beauty in a desert oasis
Wonderful tour and guide. I booked a +1 for this trip easily through Tinggly. When we arrived everything was ready for us, (bikes, helmets, snacks, water) just show up with layers and sunscreen. Ben was our guide for the day and was amazing -- friendly, knowledgeable, with a great attitude. He taught us about the local foliage and animal life, history of Palm Springs, a bit of architecture. The bike ride is casual for most of the trip, though there is a moderate section that is exposed and gains elevation. It's short so at worst you can hike your bike up the path. The hike was easy, shaded, and absolutely beautiful. Before and after we biked through the local neighborhoods and got a taste of the midcentury modern architecture. Ben was fantastic, both supplying interesting information and answering our random questions.
The Indian Canyons, just outside the resort of Palm Springs, are a wonderfully picturesque landscape that might have been designed for mountain biking. On this Palm Springs gift experience you’ll tour the canyons on two wheels, exploring the ancestral home of the local Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, with its red cliffs, distinctive fan palms and barrel cacti alive with wildlife including Bighorn sheep. Everything you’ll need, from snacks and water to a helmet are provided, and you’ll be accompanied of course by a professional guide to lead the way.
When you think about it mountain biking is the best form of sightseeing. You’re out in the open air, able to get a more sensory experience, and you get some great exercise too. This isn’t challenging terrain - kids aged 9 and up will be fine. You’ll cross streams, pass amazing rock formations, and ride through stark desert scenery that will leave you gasping. Palm Springs is one of California’s most famous resorts but there’s a lot, lot more to it than just golf courses and spas, as you will find out with this awesome day out on a bike.
