- A true adventure - man and dog vs. nature
- Immerse yourself in breathtaking Siberian landscapes
- Epic journey through Russian history and culture
Tinggly is extremely excited to bring you one of the all-time great Russia experiences - an epic dog-sledding expedition through wintery Siberian landscapes, across the frozen expanses of Lake Baikal, past ancient castles, holy sites and peninsulas where the warriors of Genghis Khan once sheltered. Along the way you’ll try fishing through a hole carved in the lake’s ice, take a few authentic Siberian saunas, see 400-year old cedars, Manchurian deer, and cave paintings dating back to the 1st millennium BC. And throughout all of this, you are in charge of your own dog team - you feed them, you take care of them, you harness them and when it’s time to move on, you take the reins and shout “Mush!”
The number of unforgettable experiences and images that you’ll encounter are too many to mention, so we’ll run through the highlights. You’ll begin on day one by meeting your dogs, at Siberia’s premier dog-sledding centre. The following day, you’ll be enjoying traditional Siberian fish soup with some local fishermen. You’ll glide over ice swiftly and silently, heading for the hunter’s lodge where you’ll overnight. Warm up with an invigorating banya, or sauna, then enjoy a freshly-prepared hearty meal. Take a snowmobiling expedition between ancient villages. Towards the end of this spectacular nine-day tour, watch the skies above for hawks circling the cliffs, and islands off the coast in the far distance. The scenery is beyond impressive. This is a true adventure requiring both physical and mental stamina, but it’s one that will stay with you forever.
