New Zealand’s Fox Glacier, or to give it its Maori name, Te Moeka o Tuawe, is a vast, spectacular glacier and one of the few that exist in close proximity to both an ocean and a rainforest. This unique setting, and the speed of the ice flow (up to 3 metres a day in some areas) makes it a major visitor attraction on the South Island. You’ll take a memorable helicopter flight over Fox Glacier to enjoy superlative views of the surrounding landscape that most people miss.
