With a native Philadelphian guide, film buff, festival organizer, and filmmaking teacher take a two hour guided tour of Madlab Gallery/Studio including a private movie screening. Housed in one of Philly’s most historical art deco buildings, Madlab offers tours highlighting four distinct Philadelphia districts offering a behind-the-scenes look at the running of an independent film studio. You’ll also be privy to interviews and retrospectives, the background to the technical and creative aspects of independent film making.
The film gallery features insights into movie props and memorabilia while also offering a private screening of short films in an unusual and unique microcinema. You'll be treated to little known stories about Academy award-nominated gems along with rare clips from Cannes and Sundance film festivals. You’ll also get the opportunity to become a movie critic for a day and vote on films to be nominated for the studio's annual film festival. Depending on your level of interest the tours and screenings may be customized to the suit individual tastes and interests.
