Superbly organised. You see a lot for the money. Had a super breakfast and lunch. The driver was really knowledgeable and friendly. I can really recommend this tour. You see the Grand Canyon in a wonderful way. And even if it was a little too short, you have to accept it's not really possible to do more. You sit a long time in the bus, but it's really comfortable and you don't notice the time.
At 277 miles (446km) long, 18 miles (29km) wide and over a mile (1,800m) deep, the Grand Canyon is one of the most awe-inspiring sights on Earth. Formed by the Colorado River in a process beginning 17 million years ago, it has served as settlement, place of worship, hunting area, and tourism destination, with more than 5 million people visiting it annually. This tour enables you to explore the visitors’ centre on-site, and hike the short distance to Maher Point or Grand Canyon Village from where you can enjoy panoramic views of the canyon and river.
Stop off along the scenic pine-scented trail to enjoy a prepared box lunch, and take in some of the most majestic views known to man, including the famous Phantom Ranch. To get back you have the option of either walking along the rim again, or taking a ride on the shuttle bus if you prefer. There are few better ways to spend a morning than this national park with its dramatic yet peaceful beauty.
