- A breathtaking sight of powerful white waterfalls of Agua Azul
- Marvel Misol Ha waterfall, thundering from 35 metres
- Explore the ruins of Palenque, an ancient Mayan civilisation dating back to 226 BC
An early morning transfer takes you to the Sierra Madre de Chiapas mountains, and the beautiful Agua Azul, where clear blue water cascades into shimmering limestone pools. Take a dip, enjoy the feel of the mineral-rich water against your skin, and enjoy the breathtaking scenery around you. Not far away is Misol Ha, which at 35m (115ft) is the highest waterfall in Mexico.
The tour moves on to Palenque, a jungle city much smaller than that at Chichen Itza, although it is believed only around 10% of the site has yet been explored. Here you will see some of the greatest works of Mayan architecture in excellent condition including the palace and its observation tower, and many temples. At its peak during the 7th century, Palenque was gradually absorbed by the jungle before its rediscovery. This is a fascinating step back in time to understand Mayan culture and tradition.
