Experience description

150 metres wide, 23 metres high, the Rhine Falls is the largest waterfall in Europe, formed over 14,000 years ago and a truly magnificent sight. For centuries it has inspired poets and artists including Turner and Mary Shelley, and this guided Zurich gift experience has the power to leave you awestruck. You’ll be transported by comfortable coach from the city centre, through beautiful countryside, to the Upper Rhine River. Along the way, the scenic farming village of Marthalen with its timber-framed houses, the 16th century Munot Fortress, and many picturesque vineyards.

The drama of the Rhine Falls hits you before you even see it - the unmistakable roar of water going over the rocks can be heard from a long way off. Visit during the summer months and you can opt for a memorable boat trip to a rock at the centre of the falls (extra charge payable), where you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the cascading waters. Alternatively just relax on the river bank and admire the scenery for a while. This is a top Zurich attraction, a major natural landmark, and a fun day out.
