- One of the world’s greatest boat journeys, along the magnificent Rhine Valley
- Taste the delicious wines of the valley and admire famous Lorelei-Rocks

Germany’s Rhine Valley is understandably a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Famed for its fairytale-like medieval castles, and the picturesque villages and vineyards that run alongside the banks of this most beautiful of rivers, the Rhine captures the imagination like nowhere else. A superb tour allows you to spend a day relaxing on a boat journey through scenic locales, stopping off for lunch and a spot of wine-tasting, but really the main draw is just wandering the deck and admiring some of Europe’s most beloved landscape.
Travel by romantic Rhine steamer past the world-renowned Loreleyfelsen rock, wander the narrow streets of Rüdesheim, and, in the summer, you also have the option of taking the Assmannshauen cable car down the valley. Lunch is provided, in a local restaurant, where you’ll also have the chance to taste some wines produced in a nearby vineyard. Note that during the winter months, it is possible the boats won’t be sailing, in which case you’ll be visiting one of the Rhine’s stunning castles instead for a guided tour. All told, this is a stunning day out.
