Noted as one of the world’s great train journeys, step onboard the Jacobite Steam Train - The Hogwart’s Express - as you wend your way through the spectacular Scottish countryside while exploring the history of the Jacobites. Spend two days in the company of an expert guide as you leave Edinburgh, before passing through the gateway to the Scottish Highlands at Fort William. Take in the sights of Loch Ness, Ben Nevis and the natural beauty of the ruggedly scenic Scottish landscape.
Overnight in a B&B at Fort Augustus, before boarding the train to cross the famous Forth Railway Bridge. Take a hike in the woodlands at Dunkeld and continue your exploration once again, this time taking in the sights of the Drumochter Pass, the towering summits of the Cairngorms, and finally to the scene of the Jacobites last stand against government forces at Culloden. On your once-in-a-lifetime journey, you will also experience the famous viaduct of Harry Potter fame, and the Glen Finnan monument where Bonnie Prince Charlie proclaimed his intentions at the start of the Jacobite rising. You will also have lunch in the western coastal town of Mallaig, famed for its delicious seafood before continuing on via Glen Coe, Rannoch Moor, and Stirlingshire and returning to Edinburgh.
