- Perfect destination for the intrepid and curious traveller
- Discover a hidden paradise deep in a canyon
- Wander Mayan communities for an authentic experience

Reckoned by many to be among the world’s most beautiful lakes, Lake Atitlán is the first stop on this amazing Guatemala gift experience. A two-hour drive from Antigua brings you to the vibrant community of Panajachel, from where you’ll take a boat to Santa Cruz la Laguna. From here, you’ll paddle gently out along the dramatic shoreline, past the villages of Jaibalito and Tzununa, and cliff faces filled with exotic bird and plantlife, and observe local Mayan fishermen plying their trade from hand-carved boats as they have done for centuries. Why not pause for a refreshing dip in the crystal clear volcanic waters? The tour breaks for an exploration on foot of Atitlán’s north shore, along ancient paths through maize and coffee fields, before returning to the adventure centre for a lakeside cocktail.
Overnighting in a hostel, you’ll enjoy fresh coffee next day, before heading out again in your kayak to explore a different section of the lake’s shoreline. You’ll hike the secluded Pumpatin Canyon to see cascading waterfalls, coffee fields and more magnificent scenery of the lake, and the volcanoes surrounding it. Few outsiders set foot here, and it’s something of a hidden paradise. After returning to the adventure centre for lunch, you’ll pack up and depart for the return to Antigua. A fascinating, unforgettable two-day trip through stunning landscapes - not to be missed!
