Not so long ago, gibbons were reintroduced into Angkor Park with the aim of establishing a new colony. They’re known for the high speeds they can reach when swinging through the tree branches, but even they get left behind by this awesome high-speed canopy zipline tour - the only one of it’s kind to have permission to operate in the park, not far from the precious temples Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom. So let’s see the numbers - 10 ziplines stretched over the jungle canopy; four hanging bridges that span hundreds of metres; 21 platforms to negotiate, and a huge 50m rappel descent - sound like fun to you?
This amazing jungle adventure is extra appealing, coming with round-trip transfers from downtown Siem Reap, as well as a delicious traditional Khmer meal at a local restaurant. You build up an appetite from the adrenaline as you whoosh through the air, and a sit-down meal afterwards really hits the spot. Another reason this is a Tinggly fave is that your “Sky Rangers” will also give you a great rundown on the area’s wildlife and history as you move from platform to platform, so in between the bursts of energy you pick up a lot of interesting local knowledge.

Flight of the Gibbon base camp is beautifully immersed in the jungle. One of the things I appreciated the most is that the sky rangers always put the safety of visitors first. I did a total of 10 zip lines, and crossed 4 sky bridges. It was an adrenaline packed day, but I was never scared. And the sky rangers that led my group - Tola and Tida - were kind, funny and always polite. Zip-lining with Flight of the Gibbon was an incredible experience, I wholeheartedly recommend it!
