Experience description

Tucked away in the beautiful Slovenian Alps, an old mine is the setting for a most atmospheric tour. Accompanied by your expert guide, switch on your helmet lamp and cycle deep beneath the earth to see the remains of past excavations. Learn the history and stories of the mine as you cycle the 6km (4 miles) route, emerging to a valley below, back to the meeting point, followed by delicious traditional lunch on a local farm.

Alternatively, you can take a second route through the mine, but this time by kayak on a flooded section! Begin with a ride down on the original mining train, an experience in itself. Then hike and paddle on “sit-on-top” kayaks through the underground. All equipment is provided, and you won’t get cold, as this is a dynamic tour, and the mine is pretty humid. Return by train again, in time for lunch.
