Experience description

Strike it lucky with a taste of authentic history on this fab Alaska gift experience. Beginning with pick-up from your cruise ship in the capital city, Juneau, you’ll have a whistle-stop tour of the city’s main attractions before heading to Gold Creek, and the Last Chance Basin, where you’ll be taught the basics of gold-panning, and can have a go yourself at looking for gold-dust. Everything you find, you keep, and you also get a certificate of completion.

Following your gold-panning adventure, you’ll be introduced to another great Alaskan tradition - the salmon bake. The buffet meal, which can be either lunch or dinner dependent on the tour time you select, will be delicious, and before heading back to the port, why not take a short walk down to the historic Wagner Mine, part of the huge Gold Rush that in the late 19th century turned Juneau into one of the largest producers of the precious metal.
