- See lava flows from the world’s most active volcano
- Truly epic scenery best appreciated by helicopter
Of all the many helicopter sightseeing tours in the Tinggly collection, we think this one may
just be the most impressive. Why? Because you’ll be flying above some of the world’s most
spectacular landscapes, in Hawaii’s legendary Volcanoes National Park. This is the most
geologically active environment on the plant, an area that has been continuously erupting
since 1983. It’s a primeval landscape where you might imagine dinosaurs walking around,
and there’s no better way to take it in than from a helicopter. What’s more, your pilot is also
an excellent tour guide, and will tell you all about what you’re seeing through two-way
noise-cancelling headphones.
Even though a dvd recording is captured of your flight, do make sure you bring your own
camera too. You’ll see active lava regions, and the immense Mauna Kea volcano which,
measured from its base, is taller than Mt. Everest! You’ll gasp in wonder at Big Island’s
stunning Hamakua Coast and the jewel in its crown, the Waipio Valley with vast 2000ft cliffs
and cascading waterfalls. This hour-long helicopter flight over Hawaii’s Big Island is a truly
unforgettable experience.
