Tour Mitad del Mundo desde Quito para dos

Feel on top of the world as you stand right in the middle! Just north of Quito is the famous Ciudad Mitad del Mundo, where a monument marks the exact point of the equator. Here you can straddle the line, with one foot in the northern hemisphere and one foot in the southern - quite the photo opportunity! Learn about the 18th century mission to define the equator, which was part of the attempt to determine the shape of our planet, at the on-site Intiñan Museum, which is also included in this Quito gift experience.

The museum is sited almost exactly on the equator, and has a range of fascinating ethnographic exhibits including, supposedly, a genuine shrunken head(!) and a blow dart practise range. You can see an ancient sun dial, watch as water trickles down the drain in different directions on either side of the equator, and much more. Wander outside, and you can enjoy spectacular views of the Pululahua crater, before heading back to Quito both informed and entertained.
