- See New Zealand’s most-photographed scenery
Abel Tasman National Park, at the top of the South Island, is one of the most beautiful wildernesses in New Zealand - and for anyone who knows the country, they’ll also know that’s saying a lot! Many visitors to the park choose to get around by convenient water taxi, and that’s what you’ll be doing with this New Zealand gift experience, where you have the choice of three different walk options in the park. Stunning scenery, easygoing terrain to explore and more than a few memorable moments along the journey - it’s the best way to explore Abel Tasman.
Option A takes you out to the beaches and bays of Astrolabe, dropping you off in the charmingly named Apple Tree Bay around noon. From here you’ll walk to Anchorage, passing some five beautiful beaches along the way, with the option of adding on the Pitt Head loop track. Or you may prefer option B, which takes you from Medlands beach to Anchorage via the magnificent South Head lookout, the Falls River swing bridge and Cleopatra’s Pool. Lastly, option C covers the stunning beaches between Awaroa and Medlands, with the option to explore the waterfall and lagoon at Bark Bay. Tricky to decide, isn’t it! Don’t worry, whatever your choice, the Abel Tasman National Park will blow your mind.
