- Take on New Zealand’s highest bungy jump
- Fall at speeds of up to 128km/h!
For many people, when they come to Queenstown, they’ve only got one ambition in mind:
to take a bungy jump. And the Nevis is one beast of a bungy, you can be sure about that. In
fact, not only is this the highest bungy in all New Zealand, it’s the third highest bungy
platform in the world. 134 metres. 8.5 seconds of freefall. Speeds of up to 128km/hour. You
won’t need espresso in your coffee after this.
Suspended over the Nevis River valley just outside Queenstown, the bungy platform has a
glass bottom, so spectators can actually watch you as you plummet - it’s almost, but not
quite, as big an adrenaline rush for them as it is for you! And on the bounce back, even the
second drop is still higher than the first of the Kawarau Bridge nearby. Raw thrills are
definitely on the menu today. If there is a bigger rush in New Zealand than the Nevis bungy,
we’ve yet to hear about it.
