- The adventure to see the best of Volcanoes National Park
- See the Halemaumau crater, which is currently active and you can see the molten lava
- A visit to the world-famous Kona coffee plantation
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and took us throughout the south eastern part of the island where much of the lava and the active volcano are. We had dinner at a winery with wine tasting. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience as did my boyfriend.
We think this Hawaii excursion is among the most exciting in our portfolio. You’ll start at a Kona coffee farm - one of the most expensive coffee types in the world, Kona benefits from the mineral-rich soil on the volcanic slopes where it is grown. Try a cup here and you’ll never be content at breakfast again without it. Following a deli-style lunch at the farm you’ll head to Punalu'u, a black sand beach popular with giant sea turtles that can live for hundreds of years.
You’ll then go to the legendary Volcanoes National Park, where your ranger-guide will show you around sights including the Jaggar Museum, active craters and steam vents, and the incredible Thurston lava tube, a huge cave formed by flowing lava. There will be a sit-down dinner inside the park and at sunset you’ll see Halemaumau, an active crater on the summit of Kīlauea, and possibly even witness some volcanic activity! This tour is packed with thrilling and unique activities, highly recommended for anyone visiting Hawaii.
