Explora Baan Bat y la isla de Rattanakosin

Your first destination is Baan Bat, otherwise known as the Monk Bowl Village, where for centuries skilled craftsmen have precision pounded steel with hammers to create the alms bowls carried by Thailand’s orange-robed buddhist monks. This is one of the only surviving communities of this kind left in the country, and it’s fascinating to watch the craftsmen at work.

Making your way over to Rattanakosin Island, on the eastern bank of the Chao Phraya river and bounded by canals to the west, you’ll see historic sites including the October 14 Memorial, the Democracy monument, Golden Mountain, the Giant Swing and the Tiger shrine, a popular Chinese temple. There will be time for a traditional lunch, before heading back to the city, or you can stay on in this area, which many visitors compare to stepping back in time to Bangkok as it was in generations past.
