It was a great day and a beautiful area but when you have the expectation for “an experience” and get stuck in a bus with time control and lots of people you definitely lose quality.

The tour activities were nice, the only problem for me was how much the guide talked. Basically non-stop all day. I would prefer a more quiet journey to enjoy the landscape, but that's just me.

The wines of Portugal’s Douro region are famous the world over for their fine quality. This superb full-day tour takes you through the magnificent Douro Valley just outside Porto, past mountainous peaks, picturesque riverside towns, historic monasteries and shrines, and some of the country’s most attractive landscape. You’ll visit the birthplace of Port wine, and taste some of the best examples while on the valley slopes, with opportunity to buy more to bring home.
The tour is punctuated by lunch, where you’ll enjoy some delicious traditional Portuguese food, before moving on to the Pinhão parish. Spectacular panoramic views are guaranteed of the hillside vineyards, and you’ll also have a chance to visit an ancient Roman settlement, before embarking on the return journey to Porto. An excellent day out, sampling the very best of the Portuguese countryside and wine culture.
