- Take off for Houston’s number-one attraction
- One of a few places in the world where you can touch a moon rock
The Houston City Tour was eye-opening for us who knew little abut the city other than the Superdome and Johnson Space Centre. It is a culturally, architecturally and medically alive city. The Space Centre tour was great for kids and the tram ride was interesting for adults, especially the Saturn V built for the canceled Apollo 18 mission and the historical record of the Apollo program. The time in the Space Centre was interesting, especially for children, but time allowed was too long for adults without kids.
We love this 6-hour tour of Space City - it’s the perfect day out for families or anyone with an interest in space travel. Located just a short distance from Houston, you begin with an interesting tram tour to the NASA Control Centre, and also the International Space Centre Assembly building. Learn about mission control and how these vast structures are built and launched into space.
As part of the multimedia tour, you can try your hand on a lunar landing simulator, or even touch a lump of rock brought back from the moon by astronauts - out of this world! As well as the largest IMAX in Texas, the center also contains many other exhibits, artifacts and displays that will keep everyone entertained for hours.
