Departing from Puno, your guided transfer will take you to the edge of scenic Lake Titicaca, home to over 500 aquatic species including catfish and the giant Titicaca Water Frog. First stop is a group of islands known as Uros, where the locals live in homes built entirely from tortora reeds. This welcoming community dates back to pre-Inca times, and will be pleased to tell you about their lifestyle.
Next it’s on to the island of Taquile, where the locals have combined modern technology (solar panels for energy) with strong links to the past - traditional handicrafts from Taquile have a firm reputation for quality, and you’ll have the opportunity to see the weaver’s co-operative and purchase a few souvenirs. A delicious lunch will be served before you head back to shore.
