Full day of adventure! Unfortunately, the weather wasn't very good the day I booked this tour so the mountains were not visible - but I suspect that if it had been clear skies then the mountains from Eagle's Nest would have looked remarkable. After the Eagle's Nest, the bus takes you down to Berchtesgaden - a nice, cute and quaint town in Germany (close to the Austrian border - near Salzburg of course). There you can purchase lunch and browse the area for about an hour. Then it's about a ten min drive from Berchtesgaden to the salt mine location. I personally thought this part was very okay. Tour is spoken in German but english speakers are given headsets. After that, you end the tour at a beautiful lake for about 1 and 1/2 hours. This was my favorite part- once again you can shop around or ditch that and walk along the trail by the lake! (Lake Königssee) (I'm a 23 year old solo traveler - most people on the tour were older than I and not solo). I met great people on the tour nonetheless!
