- Snorkel a world-class coral reef
- Sail aboard a historic brigantine ship
- Bask in a truly idyllic paradise island setting
This Fiji gift experience is an absolute must when staying in Nadi or Denarau. You’ll board a magnificent two-masted ship built for the Governor General in 1957, for a voyage out to the beautiful Tivua Island. Surrounded by a huge coral reef, this tiny island is a sanctuary for turtles during the nesting season, and is ringed by irresistible white sand beaches. During the day, you’ll be invited to take part in a wide range of island activities, from snorkeling to kayaking, and you can even join a glass-bottomed boat tour over the reef led by a professional marine biologist. Or, you may prefer to simply stretch out in a hammock and bask in the stunning scenery.
A typical Kava island welcome ceremony will greet you on arrival, and the crew will serve up a delicious Fijian buffet lunch for you to enjoy as well. If the turtles are on the beach, you can watch from a distance as they lay their eggs, or take up the offer of snorkeling gear to explore the spectacular reef. Essentially, you can do as much or as little as you feel, as it’s all part of the experience package. As you head back to Nadi at the end of an enormously fun day, keep your eyes on the water - it’s not unusual to see dolphins leaping through the waves alongside.
