This awesome Iceland gift experience gives you a sedate, refined horseback journey through mysterious lava fields, before stepping it up a gear for a fast-paced muddy ATV ride up mountain trails. If you love beautiful scenery, and also the thought of speeding through it on a powerful quad-bike, then this tour is for you. You’ll start at Íshestar Farm to meet your guide and the rest of your group, as well as your horse, before setting off to explore the vast lava fields around Mt. Helgafell and the hillsides surrounding Lake Hvaleyrarvatn.
After a short lunch break, you’ll leave your horse behind on the outskirts of Mosfellsbær as you climb aboard a 650cc quad bike. Head off on a gravel road around picturesque Lake Hafravatn, then on to a trail leading to the summit of Mt. Hafrafell. The views from the peak are naturally spectacular - on a clear day you’ll see the entire Reykjavik area, the Reykjanes Peninsula, the bay and mountains.
