The unique landscape of Iceland, often likened to the surface of the moon, was formed by ancient geological processes. This is your chance to discover the secrets of Iceland’s volcanic history, by taking a guided caving expedition below the surface of the earth into a lava tube. This subterranean world, created by hardening lava thousands of years ago, is illuminated by your head torch, as the guide points out interesting rock formations all around.
The caverns of Leiðarendi, deep within Iceland’s famous Blue Mountains, are simply mesmerising. On this Iceland experience you’ll need to be comfortable in tight spaces and prepared to get down on all fours to squeeze through some tight sections, but the effort is well-rewarded. See frozen icicles hanging from the rock ceiling, and keep an eye out for trolls!
