- Immerse yourself in one of France’s oldest traditions
- Hear harvesting stories passed down generations
- A quintessential French experience
You could not hope to find a better, more authentic introduction to rural French traditions than this Provence gift experience. Slip off your shoes, climb into the barrel (it’s big enough for four people) and stomp away. For generations, a vital part of wine production in France has involved crushing the grapes manually, and it’s so much fun, visitors love to get involved. Huge, antique oak casks that will come up to your waist are filled with grapes, and you can jump around, all the while enjoying superb views of nearby Mt. Sainte-Victoire.
Your friendly hosts at the vineyard will be happy to give you a tour of the premises to learn about the other processes involved in making their wine - plus a few tastings of course. Having no doubt built up a substantial appetite, you’ll be served up a delicious lunch of cheese, charcuterie, red wine and lashings of the family’s own olive and truffle oils. Fun for all the family, this is a day out full of laughter, passion and sticky toes.
